sending film
There are two ways to get your film to us for scanning: Shipping (via Fedex or UPS) or dropping it off in person.
How to pack and ship your film
Fedex and UPS are excellent carriers for shipping film and other originals, especially because there is a tracking number to verify its whereabouts and delivery! To package your film, leave the negative in a plastic or glassine sleeve for protection against scratches and abrasion. Then sandwich the negative between two sheets of thick cardboard. For small scan orders a Fedex envelope is usually fine. For larger scan orders (and large format film) its best to bubble wrap the cardboard and slip the contents into a small Fedex or UPS box. We strongly recommend you use Fedex or UPS and not the U.S. Postal Service for sending film or other original artworks.
Be sure to download and fill out a Drum Scan order form and include it with your film. For negative scanning, its helpful to include a guide print so we can dial in the appropriate contrast and color balance at scan time.
