Candela Fine Art Printing

Candela Fine Art Printing is a fine art digital printing studio in Oakland, California. Candela is run by Brad Boca. Brad’s specialty is working collaboratively with artists focused on producing exhibition quality printing of photographic and other 2D/3D artwork (paintings, sculpture, etc), superb high-resolution drum scans of film and prints, and technical/printing support for artists with their own studios and equipment.

Brad Boca has worked as a professional digital printmaker since 2005. After attending the Academy of Art University’s MFA program, Brad worked as a fine art printing specialist at Color Folio, a fine art printing studio in Sebastopol, Ca. From 2007 to 2010 he ran the Digital Services Department at Looking Glass Photo, in Berkeley, Ca, where he did all the custom printing for Looking Glass’s customers, taught printing and color management classes, and consulting artists on setting up their own digital darkrooms, before going solo in 2010.

With the creation of Candela, and its basic printing services, Brad is also responding to a need by a growing number of photographers who have moved away from the traditional photo lab and invested in their own large-format printers and digital darkrooms.  Among the many offerings for the on-site consultation are:
